Belgium Working Holiday Visa

 Overview

The Belgium Working Holiday Visa allows young individuals from Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan, aged 18 to 30, to experience Belgium’s culture, lifestyle, and work opportunities while staying for more than 90 days. This visa is designed for those who want to travel, explore, and engage in short-term work to support their stay.

Applicants must submit two identical sets of documents (one original set and one set of copies).

Important Notice:

  • The Working Holiday Visa is only available to Australian, New Zealand, and Taiwanese nationals.
  • Proof of sufficient financial meansis required to cover initial living costs.
  • Applicants must have valid medical and travel insurancefor their stay.
  • The visa is granted for a limited period, and renewal is generally not permitted.

Processing Time

Visa processing times vary, and applicants are advised to apply at least 8 weeks in advance to avoid delays.

Documents Required

Visa Application Form

  • Two duly completed and signed VisaOnWeb application forms with barcodes.

Photographs

  • Four UK passport-sized photos (3.5cm x 4.5cm).
  • Colour photos with a plain white background.
  • Must be less than three months old.

Passport

  • Valid for at least 12 months from the date of visa issuance.
  • Issued within the last 10 years.
  • Must contain two blank pages side by side.

Proof of Finance

  • Bank statements proving a minimum of €2,500 to cover expenses for the first three months.

UK Residency

  • Provide a UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.

Criminal Record Check

  • Original and a copy of an ACRO/Police Certificate, covering at least the last year.
  • Must be legalised if required.

Medical Certificate

  • Original and a copy issued by a Belgian Embassy-approved doctor in London.

Medical and Travel Insurance

  • Two copies of a policy covering:
    • Medical expenses, hospital costs, and repatriation.
    • Minimum coverage of €30,000.
    • Valid for at least three months.

Proof of Return Travel

  • A confirmed ticket out of Belgium or proof of sufficient funds to purchase one (e.g., a credit card statement).

Important Notes

  • All documents must be in English, French, Dutch, or German. Foreign official documents must be legalised or carry an apostille unless exempted by treaty.
  • The submission of documents does not guarantee visa approval.
